Olympiapark Walk & BMW’s Rise, Fall, and Rebirth
Explore one of Munich’s most iconic areas on an easy walking experience through the Olympiapark, the former 1972 Olympic Village, BMW Welt (showroom), the BMW museum and the BMW Headquarters area. Your guide will show you parts of the original Olympic athlete housing—now student residences with a truly unique art scene—and lead you to scenic viewpoints while sharing key stories about the Munich Olympics and the site’s legacy.
As you continue toward the BMW HQ, you’ll hear the story of BMW’s journey—from aircraft engines, through multiple near-collapses, to becoming a global automotive brand—along with how an influential industrial family played a key role in the company’s survival. All historical storytelling takes place outside the museum.
Your tour includes ticketed BMW Museum entry. Guests are welcome to enjoy free time to explore and wander through the museum at their own pace. When possible, your guide may briefly join you inside to highlight a few standout exhibits—such as the 007 James Bond vehicle from Tomorrow Never Dies and Elvis Presley’s BMW 507 Roadster—before you continue discovering the museum on your own terms.
*Please note: BMW reserves official guiding inside the museum and factory to its own staff, and must be booked directly through their website. Our tour is thoughtfully curated to offer an in-depth, all-encompassing experience of the Olympic Park and BMW’s story, setting the stage for an enriching visit inside the museum. Any experiences advertised elsewhere as privately guided tours inside the BMW Museum are not permitted under BMW’s visitor regulations. Your tour with us includes the entrance to the museum and the special exhibits.
